✔ 最佳答案
如果我想講 "他們接收到命令馬上往目的地前去"
They left for (headed to) the destination as soon as they received the order.
as soon as ~ immediately after
I think it is not appropriate to use past continuous tense for the translation.
如果說 "他們接收到命令後,才前往目的地去",
可以用 past perfect tense
They headed to the destination after they had received the order.

Past continuous tense:
They were heading to the destination when they received the order.
(yes, a bit strange but grammatical!)
(it means they left without having received the order; they received it on the way to the destination)

請留意: 不同的連詞 (as soon as, after, when),用不同的 tense,有不同的意思!

No sooner had they received the order than they left for the destination. (no sooner ... than 馬上)
