If the earth did not spin around its own axis how would that affect its orbit around the sun?

It would not affect the Earth's orbit. It would of course end all life on Earth, but the Earth would still orbit the sun just as it does now.

It wouldn't, to any significant extent. The two motions are (almost entirely) uncoupled.
