1.I have never been strip searched at the court room they have ran the scanner over me and did a very good frisk (But I've always gone to court from jail so they stripped searched me before leaveing the jail)
2.Could just be the 2 of you or more at the court room depending how they do the order of things there
3. the search at the court will be the officers there the search at the jail or prison is correctional officers of the same sex
4. Yes you will be strip searched in front of other inmate privacy is not there concern
5. If you refuse you will be placed in restraints and taken to isolation where you will be stripped anyways and searched
6.A cavity search is required to have a warrant and must be done by a medical (doctor usually) not done on regular strip searches
7. not the most enjoyable thing to go though
8.Not everyone gets the naked photos I was undressed for photo due to the location of tattoos
9. prison life is not the best time goes by slow, it smells, food not the best but its food so dont complain, showers are nasty you will need shower shoes
10. You will shower with other inmates and yes they watch periodically youll get used to it
11.Strip searches are common and can happen at any time and no drug offenses dont always recieve a cavity search
12.No money wont buy you a shorter stay but there is good time and parole

As far as the strip searches go you taken to a room they have you remove you clothes till your completely nude once nude (if you female) they will have you shake out your hair, flip your hair from the back to the front and back again, open your mouth lift you tongue up and from side to side, look up your nose and in your ears, lift you arms up to expose the under arms, lift both breast to expose the under parts, hold both hands straight out and spread fingers apart, spread you legs squat down and cough hard -2-3 times, stand up some may have you bendover and spread you butt cheeks some don't it varies, you will also raise both feet to show bottom of your feet and wiggle toes.
It's usually cold you'll get used to this and there is no privacy another thing you'll get used to.

If you're arrested for drug possession, you will be taken to a room, told to strip naked, then you have to squat and hop across the room, coughing as you hop. I've never been to prison, but I have a cousin who is a repeat offender (drugs and theft). She says that yes, you do bathe with other inmates, and the guards watch. You have no privacy. You can be ordered to have your cell searched at any time. There are male guards in female prisons, as well as female guards. They are watching when you use the bathroom, use the shower, eat, sleep, and everything else. You will be expected to attend rehabilitation classes and you will be assigned a job. The more cooperative you are, the better you will get along. Don't be a smart aleck, join a gang, or call negative attention to yourself. The only way you will get less time is if you're obedient and cooperative, and your sentence might be lightened for "good behavior". You can't buy yourself a lighter sentence.

I have to disagree with the previous answerers. Strip searches are illegal without probable cause. However, you may be forced to disrobe behind a closed door like a public bathroom stall and hand your clothes to a guard to be searched. I've litigated strip search cases and the jail must have cause to believe you are smuggling contraband into jail. However, because some inmates are not clean, you will have to shower behind closed doors with a disinfectant soap. Prisons that do mandatory strip searches of all inmates have been hit with multi-million dollar judgments. People who are subject to strip searches are generally gang members, who are arrested on minor offenses in order to intentionally smuggle drugs into jails for fellow gang members. EDIT: I'm wondering if the other answerers are serious. A "blanket strip seach" policy has been declared unconstitutional by every court that has heard the issue. You can be strip searched only for an articulated specific reason. Let me elaborate: my law enforcement officers know who gang leaders are. Gang leader gets arrest and incarcerated for a long period of time. New, young gang members commit a minor crime intentionally that gets them incarcerated for a couple of days. We know they are gang members. They are trying to get into jail to smuggle drugs or shanks (weapons). That's an articulated specific reason and they can be strip searched. Other prisoners cannot. The courts have heard these cases for years and ruled for the prisoners. EDIT: I read "nightrider's" answer and I appreciate the respectful disagreement. He is correct about my viewpoint. I represent a detention with federal prisoners who have not been convicted yet. Therefore, they do have all their civil rights. "Nightrider"-you did correctly pick up the distinction. In my state, strip searches of some pre-trial detainees are not legal.

1. suppose not. most likely just a frisk (clothed) search
2. depends on how much people have court
3. in court the police (transfering officers) in jail the guards (corrections officers)
4. for males it is more common to happen as a group (not always though) - females almost always alone
5. they can force you and put you in isolation - don't try it
6. depends but they need authorization
7. don't know but suppose it hurts a little
8. well that depends on the facility. some do not, others only if there is a tatoo there but other take the mugshots after the strip search
9. in one word? boring
10. almost all jail showers are communal and supervised but you get used to it
11. at booking, after every contact visit and during inspections
12. good time and parole as mentioned above. money cannot help you.

You are stipped buck naked in the court room before the jury leaves and a correctional officer of the opposite sex checks all your, um, openings, for hidden stuff.
