What your card is used, it is known as an authorization. Once you have signed, the merchant will present the receipts for payment as a transaction.

An authorization will not generate an actual account record, but a transaction will. So it depends on the manager simply ignores that authorization, or the manager has processed the transaction and refunded back to you.
