簡單英文的問題

從 formal writing 角度去看 (academic English)

1. anything update ~ wrong

2. any update ~ correct (update 是 noun)

3. anything updated ~ correct

4. any updated. ~ not quite right (如果 updated 是句子最後一個字)
是 informal English, 交談用, any 作 pronoun (例如: Any updated?)
In formal writing, updated 無論作 past tense 或 past participle 都是錯
updated 不是作 adjective

any updated + noun. ~ correct (例如: any updated information, updated 是作 adjective); updated 用來形容個 noun, "information"

第一個 phrase 錯的原因
update 可以是 noun 或 verb (transitive)
anything update (pronoun + noun) ~不可能是 compound nouns
anything update (pronoun + verb) ~ 錯
應該是 update anything (active voice) 或者 anything updated (passive voice)
I can’t update anything.
I can’t get anything updated.

如果句子 (1) = 句子 (2), 句子 (3) = 句子 (4)
換句話說, 即是 any = anything, 無什麼分別, 兩個字一樣, 可以互換用
---- 真有點五穀不分, 得過且過, 不理會文法, 但求別人聽明白便算
Any 是 determiner, pronoun, adverb
anything 只能作 pronoun

在北美, any 可當普通 pronoun 用
在英國, 當 any 用作 pronoun, 多是 any of something
I don’t see any. ~ 多似 informal English, 普羅大眾交談用
在英國傳統的中學, 是 unacceptable.
I don’t see anything. ~意思不一樣

It is in your best interest not to mix up these words.

All are correct.Just the meaning are not the same.

update can be n or v depending on where to use it:-
(1)anything update:-bring up to date; the most recent information about something to add, to add new parts
(2)=(1)
(3)anything updated:-records are regularly updated; a new version containing the most recent information,correct grammar=are updated----eg:-Our News record are regularly updated.
(4)=(3)
