Christians? Who has it RIGHT?

The one that can present verifiable evidence of its outrageous claims, so none of them.

We aren't the judge. God is the Judge and He is just.

Language has changed. The message is the same.


The denominations segregated from frustration because the so-called mainstream religions had drifted so far off of what Jesus taught, they formed their own.


If a persons CORE beliefs are the same as mine; I call them spiritual family, no matter what organization they attach themselves to.

Their NON ESSENTIAL beliefs don't matter to me. We can discuss them, but at the end of the day, I still love my brethren regardless.


PS. There are over 10000 HAND WRITTEN COPIES of the New Testament writings in various languages from different places and they ALL MATCH WORD FOR WORD .... dating in the second century (the originals deteriorated over time, leaving all the hand written duplicates).

The Catholic church has the bible with the pope's impramatur in it at the front of the book to show it's the real one for the catholic church. There is also a King James version of the bible which protestants believe in. Both of those books are the new testament (and are somewhat different from each other.
Then there is the Quran that Muslims believe in and the Tourah (and other books) that the Jewish believe in and both of those books are the Old Testament (before Jesus arrived on the scene)..

It's not confusing at all. And we don't have to keep them all straight. Just determine which group you belong to and use "their" bible.

Nobody.
Time magazine recently carried an article saying that many Jewish historians
doubt the whole story of Exodus ever happened. No Jewish slaves in Egypt,
no ten commandments in stone, and even no Moses. These same legends
were used before by other religions. No record of any of these events exist in
Egypt either.
in 2010 "Stoopid Monkey" asked a similar question and had many posted references
that refute the validity of the Exodus myth.
Which Bible is correct? Modern bible historians suggest that the bible has between 200,000
and 400,000 errors. The bible was not put together until about 300 years after the death
of Rabbi Jesus. The 4 gospels that were accepted for inclusion were all written between
35 and 95 years after the Rabbis death, and they were all written in classical Greek.
That would indicate that there were no eye witnesses to the stories that have been passed
down to us.
And remember, all copies of the scriptures had to be hand copied and most of the people were
illiterate. Artists copied other copies but couldn't read and didn't know if the copy was accurate.
That went on for several centuries. In about the sixth or seventh century professional copiers
were used. Many less errors after that.

A Modern Psychiatrist asked the question, "do you want to be RIGHT, or do you
want to be happy?" Given all the mythology that found its way into the bible
it seems to me that being right isn't even an option.

You know that funny thing that happened where after the 2008 inaugural speech, *most* Americans did not hear an lengthy Obama speech again, unless they listened to a State of the Union. The *other* speeches?....most only heard excerpts, brief excerpts, carefully controlled by media outlets..... often for purpose of slant and interpretation by 'experts', etc.?

It's a modern phenomena.... pundits and media making a living by getting in-between the President and the citizens, controlling the flow of information between them.....reinterpreting and controlling information, for profit.

Well....the same thing happens now to *every* great source of information that matters. You typically get an edited excerpt used as part of a message created by an editor or pundit for his/her own job.

The middlemen. Middlewomen. The in-betweeners....

With Christ, *most* people only know a few famous quotes, and *do not know* most of what He said.

And the amazing thing is that if you read what He said first-hand, it is *very surprising*!

Yeah it gets pretty crazy and complicated, really I wouldn't worry about it to much. If you live your life just and modest you should be fine. However if you are looking for the main christian church to follow, go with the Roman Catholic. Many people would disagree, but its pretty much the biggest and main one. Its divided into 2 sections- eastern orthodox and latin rite. Then you got the mass amount of protestant churches which branched off of Roman Catholic.

I believe that the Kink James Version is as close as you can get. Yes, there were some books edited out when King James had his version made up. But, that's just my opinion and it might not be correct, it's the one I'm going with.

THe Bible has it right. There is no substitute for baptism in the Bible. "God in three persons" is not there either.
Oh, which Bible? You can compare the KJV, the NASB, and the NIV; those are widely accepted and I have not seen a significant difference in the meaning of those three. I would not put much confidence in a translation that is the work of just one man, as the "Living Bible" was. It was actually a paraphrase, not an actual translation.
