The BestPlace I Have Ever BeenLast week, we had a tripto Mei Po Marshes which is situated near Mei Po village in the New Territories. In the early morning, wewent there by the private coach. After arriving at the car park in Mei Po, wehad to walk for a distance to Mei Po Nature Reserve which was a primitive areawhere nobody lived. There were many water pools, shrubs and trees far away fromboth sides of the main road. A lot of unknown birds stood at the ponds or inthe trees peacefully. We had to use binoculars to watch them if we wanted toenjoy the view clearly.At the end of the road,there was a fence which separated the restricted area from Mei Po. However wecould entry there as we had applied the entry-permit before. After entering thisarea, we had to walk along the floating bridge to the hide, beneath where therewas a marsh. Along both sides of this bridge, there were a lot of plants whichwe had hardly seen before. At the end of the bridge, there was a hide in whichwe had to stay for watching birds otherwise they were frightened by us. Thebackground was the border of the Mainland China. We could see the buildingoverthere through the binoculars. At that moment, it was at very low tide,there were several kinds of birds standing far away the hide. All of us had touse binoculars to watch them. Although it was not easy to identify the birds,all of us looked very patient to distinguish them. We had to leave therestricted area at about 10 o’clock because of the time. On the way home, weseemed to enjoyed ourselves very much and did not look tired.
