食止痛药，作用是止痛，舒緩痛楚，無助治療。
醫生給你止痛藥，表示沒有扭傷，而是一般肌肉傷，時間是最佳治療藥方(休息)，吃點止痛藥加休息預期會好。

There are a lot of different painkillers and there are different kinds of pain. In most of the case, painkillers will not improve your condition, as they are temporary relief.

The only exception is when your pain is induced by inflammation and the doctor is giving you NSAIDs. It will be a different story.
