The top of a 22-foot ladder rests against the top of an 18-foot wall. If the base of the ladder is on the same ground level as that of wall, what angle does the ladder form with the ground? Express your solution to the nearest degree.

Assuming the ground is perfectly straight and horizontal, and the wall is perfectly straight and vertical, and the ladder is perfectly straight/inflexible and yet infinitely thin:
sin(x) = 18/22
x = arcsin(18/22)
x =~ 54.903198772415403871295925666943 degrees

If this is GCSE maths then I think you should be able to use trigonometry
