The table given shows the changes in modes of travel in England between 1985 and 2000. In general, UK citizens go farther in 2000 and climbed from 4,740 miles to 6,475 mile.
Nowadays, bristher richer than the past fifteen years. They travel by car and taxi is more frequently. Auto is most popular for a trip, the distance which increase from 3,199 mile to 4,806 miles in 2000.Next comes is the smallest component which is taxi growed almost three times from 13 miles to 42 miles. On the other hand, some traditional method such as walking and riding bicycle both decreased. For example, walking dropped from 255 miles to 237 miles. That shows they are unpopular.
Recently, people get more free time and go sightseeing. They think go for a tour rather than stay at home is much benefical for them. When long distance bus ran far from 54 miles to 124 miles, local bus declined to 274 miles.
To sum-up, there are more England citizens travel and choose cars, taxi, train and long distance bus for own trip in 2000. Meanwhile, walking, riding bicycle and local bus is less importent.
