How can I get people to stop passing me in line?

There are a lot of people in my school who think they can do whatever they want, and every time I'm in line, they pass me. They have no respect, and they do this to others to. When I try to pass them back, they make it look like I passed them, and when I ignore them, they pass me again. They will also occasionally talk to a friend, and then force themselves in front of me at the front of the line. I would love to beat the crud out of them, but I don't want to get in trouble over this. How can I prevent this cruel behavior?
