Mount Royal - Montreal?

I'm going to Montreal next weekend and looking to visit Mount Royal. I'm not sure whether there are multiple entrances to enter Mount Royal. If so, which entrance I should go so that I can see the entire view of Montreal? By the way, I will stay at a hotel in the Chinatown area,

Directions to the mountain

BY FOOT: numerous entry points provide access to Mount Royal Park, namely from Avenue du Parc (at Rue Rachel), from Avenue des Pins (at Rue Peel) and from Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges via the Trafalgar stairs or Chemin Remembrance.

It is quite the hike to get to the top. There's approximately 15 flights of stairs when entering from the Drummond entrance. There are less if you enter on Rachel street. This doesn't count the numerous hills you climb to reach the top. You are above every building and get to see the city of Montreal.

BY BIKE: Olmsted Road begins at the monument to George-Étienne-Cartier on Avenue du Parc. Olmsted Road is connected to Montreal's bicycle paths via the Rue Rachel.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: the 11 bus (STM) traverses the mountain from the Mont-Royal metro station and Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges.

Metro: Place des Arts / bus : 80 or 129 or 435 and 11
Metro: Côte-des-Neiges / bus 165 or 435 and 11
Metro: Guy-Concordia / bus 165 or 435 and 11

BY CAR: the Voie Camillien-Houde and Chemin Remembrance are accessible by car:

FROM THE EAST: Take the Voie Camillien-Houde from Avenue Mont-Royal and continue past the lookout. The Mount Royal Cemetery will be on your right and you will see two parking lots on your left. Smith House is at the head of the larger lot. The flashing lights point to the detour to get to Smith House (three storey stone house).
FROM THE WEST: Take Chemin Remembrance and continue past Beaver Lake. You will come to green signs indicating a large parking lot on your right. Smith House (three storey stone house) is at the head of the parking lot.

There are numerous entrances to Mount Royal Park, and the park is free to visit. If coming from the Chinatown area, then the easiest approach is probably to walk north up Bleury or St. Urbain Streets. The south edge of the park starts at Pine Avenue (Avenue des Pins).

After that, it's simply a matter of walking/hiking up through the park until you reach the chalet or the cross area. You can also see some pretty good views from the various lookout spots along the roads. By the way, I think the entire roadway going through the park is called "Olmsted" so don't bother trying to figure out the right road once inside the park!

Montreal has been extensively mapped out on Google Maps and with Street View so you should have no problems figuring out a good way in and out. And if you don't want to walk all the way from Chinatown up to the top of the mountain, the subway will get you a bit closer. If you take the orange line over to the MONT ROYAL station, you still have a bit of a walk to the park, but at least it is a pretty level 8-10 city blocks, rather than 10-12 blocks uphill. And you can transfer onto Bus # 11 that goes through the park.
