I can't stand when people go to school when they're sick, it's so rude to other people.
Besides pneumonia can kill people, especially if you were to pass it on to someone who has asthma, etc.
You really should be asking your doctor about when you should go back to school.
That being said, If you have pneumonia, you're better off being at home, resting, thus giving your body a better chance to heal. I can almost guarantee that you're going to be so wiped out that you won't have the energy to remain at school all day long.
Besides, you won't be terribly popular if you give someone else the bug that is causing your problem, not to mention that your chronic coughing is going to disrupt the other students from being able to learn (never mind the teachers who are trying to teach classes). Give yourself at least a week to recover and then reassess things.
What made you feel that you have pneumonia? If your doctor has diagnosed pneumonia for you, he/she should have already advised you to not go to work/school as pneumonia is caused most likely by bacteria and is spreadable.
If you feel sick and feel like you have pneumonia, you should visit your doctor ASAP as pneumonia can be a serious condition if leave untreat.
Alternatively NHS now has a helpline for medical enquiry, simply call 111.
