B.P and M.P problem

Why melting point of N2 is higher than that of O2, but it's the opposite when it comes to boiling point?

What are the differences in explaining melting point and boiling point in molecular view?

Usually melting point depends on the packing of molecules. The closer the
molecules pack together, the higher the melting point and vice versa. Thus, boiling point usually refers to the van der Waals' force between the molecules. But I'm not sure if this can be applied to N2 and O2.
