Definitely. I always ask questions here.

I personally ask very few questions since most members are only here for points and/or are little kids.
If you ask questions like what SCT Henry posted... then you'll more then likely get a vio for chat.
Those same rules apply when answering a post, so keep said rules in mind.
IMO, if what you're looking to know can be answered by a "real" being or researched by you... I'd pick one of those choices over YA any day.
This can be a great place to "learn" things. I've learned a few things in the forums I frequent over the years.
You'll just have to use your own best judgement on who you believe and who you do not.

You will get some users who will do the best to help you and others who will set out to deceive you, so be prepared.

If you really want to know something important contact someone in your home town, to us you could be anywhere in the world

Yes, if you are seeking facts or fact based advice. If you are looking for chat or just having fun, this is not the place. There are several types of questions that do not work well.

1. Dear Abby type questions
2. Obvious violations
3. Really technical questions
4. Poorly written questions (all CAPS for example)
5. Using text and twitter speak instead of English
6. Asking about very archaic things that people have little interest in
7. Not enough detail
8. Wrong category
9. Medical questions - the answer is ALWAYS "see a doctor"
10. Too time consuming
11. Too much extraneous material
12. Homework

It is a pretty good place, well actually one of the only places. however, there are different types of people who will give different answers. it is not exactly "The most accurate place", but it is still one of the only paces you can ask questions.
