When did guys stop approaching girls?

especially pretty girls. In the old days when guys used to see girls they liked they would go and ask the girl out but nowadays it seems like the are no guys like that, they are shy which shows they don't have confidences anymore, why? Are there still any guys who will approach or ask out girls they like?

This era is different. It is common that girls act first and some guys enjoy being passive so they don't approach girls actively. On the other hand, I as a boy don't approach girls because I've met an extremely wonderful girl that makes all other pretty girls fade before me but I am unable to contact her. Now I basically don't find other girls interesting and won't approach them that easily.

Everytime I've done that I've been shot down... So, I just stopped. I'd ask this one girl out, 'cause I'm pretty sure she likes me, but... I'm kinda tired of it.

Well, let me put it this way. Asking a girl out is one of the most terrifying things I've had to do in my 22 years of life.
