Got Kicked Off My Track Team, Is This Fair?

First of all thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this, this has had a big impact on my life right now. My coach had me go to a track meet with my team even though I'm still not good enough to run. I didn't know what to expect so I followed my team into a room where they all rest up before a track meet. They were all talking and having fun and I couldn't say a word the whole time, I was pretty much invisible. I had a doctors appointment at 12 and I've already been sitting in their for 2 hours without saying a word. I couldn't bring out the words to anyone because of how awkward I was so I just left. Apparently the coach had it planned that I was going to help with an event. I had no idea, and I've never been to a track meet before so I was surprised about how everything went down. I came to practice Monday and the coach said to drop myself from the class because I wasn't being a part of the team. The thing that sucks the most is I ran as hard as I could everyday and limping to practice everyday because of how much pain I was in and how bad I wanted to be on the team. Now I'm off the team just like that. Shyness sucks, I don't want to play victim but how am I going to run now? Does this seem fair to you? This is Intercollegiate track by the way.

Live and learn.Next time speak up and let others know whats going on. When you can talk to people in a relaxed manner you yourself will be more relaxed.

You skipped a scheduled event without telling the coach. Try to explain yourself and hope for a bit of mercy.

If you were a high school student I would have more pity for you. But you stated that you are in college. This makes you an adult. Adult life isn't always fair.

You left the meet without telling the coach.
Team members can not leave any activity without telling the coach. If you went to the meet on the team bus you must return to the school on the team bus unless your parents personally tell the coach they are taking you.
Today it is very dangerous for school age people to be outside the school, and the coach is responsible for your safety.
You could explain the situation about the doctor's appointment, which you should have done before you left, and perhaps the coach will let you back on the team if you can prove that you actually went to the doctor.
