Can i pay cash to buy my house?

I have no credit history or credit store. I rather pay in full anyway. So is this possible if i have the money? I actually meant writing a check - not cash. Can i just cut a check for the $40,000.00 to buy my house? I have it in the bank right now. Is this legal?

Sure! Nothing wrong with that at all. In fact sellers are happier that way. It means a quick close and no waiting to see if the buyer is qualified for a mortgage. You may even get the home at a discount for offering cash.

Why on Earth would that be illegal? What CRIME would you be committing?

You can always pay cash, of course. How do you have no credit history?

Of course. Why not?

The folks you deal with will probably require a cashier's check but it is perfectly possible.
