The Peak TowerThe Peak Tower ( 凌 霄 閣 ) was completed in November 1996. It has a distinctive outline resembling a Chinese bowl. It is a multi-purpose, seven-level development with some 120,000 square feet of floor space including various entertainment attractions, restaurants and viewing terraces. The mix of shops in the complex provides a wide range of products for overseas tourists and local people. The tower is built on the site of the original Peak Tower ( 凌 峰 閣 ), which was completed in 1972. At the Peak Tower visitors can enjoy the breath-taking panoramic view of Hong Kong, the harbour and the skyline on Kowloon side. The Peak Tower is a state-of-the-art contemporary building that exemplifies Hong Kong's confident stride into the future.Po Lin Monastery Po Lin Monastery ( 寶 蓮 寺 ) is found in the beautiful plateau of Ngong Ping ( 昂平 ) on Lantau Island. Nestled between the hills, this grand monastery was founded in 1927 and is a major center of Buddhism in the region. The main temple houses 3 bronze statues of the Buddha representing his past, present and future lives as well as many Buddhist scriptures.The highlight of Po Lin Monastery however, is the Tian Tan Buddha ( 天 壇 大 佛 ), otherwise known as the Giant Buddha ( 大 佛 ), who is seated on the hilltop, up a flight of 268 steps. The 34 meter (112ft), 250 ton sculpture is the world's largest seated outdoor bronze statue of the Buddha. The statue was opened to the public in December 1993 after 10 years of construction. The views of the surrounding countryside from the base of the statue are simply stunning and there are also small exhibition galleries for view inside the statue.

 　 　 位 於 大 嶼 山 北 部 的 陰 澳 ， 是 香 港 著 名 景 點 ， 一 向 以 木 廠 馳 名 。 陰 澳 灣 海 面 上 ， 舖 滿 大 大 小 小 的 木 材 ， 遊 人 以 前 更 能 在 木 材 上 跳 來 跳 去 。 由 於 竹 篙 灣 迪 士 尼 公 園 計 劃 ， 海 面 上 的 木 材 亦 已 搬 到 一 角 。 陰 澳 鹿 頸 村 則 仍 然 保 留 鄉 村 風 貌 ， 鹿 頸 村 附 近 的 連 島 沙 洲 長 索 及 村 後 的 鹿 頸 灣 沙 灘 ， 假 日 仍 然 吸 引 遊 客 前 往 。



　 　 打 水 灣 一 帶 的 已 填 海 土 地 ， 興 建 了 地 鐵 欣 澳 站 。 車 站 使 市 民 能 利 用 鐵 路 交 通 直 達 香 港 迪 士 尼 樂 園 度 假 區 。 而 欣 澳 站 附 近 計 劃 在 將 來 興 建 旅 遊 及 康 樂 有 關 的 設 施 ， 配 合 香 港 迪 士 尼 樂 園 及 北 大 嶼 山 公 路 沿 線 的 旅 遊 設 施 ， 未 來 北 大 嶼 山 將 會 成 為 旅 遊 走 廊 。



　 　 竹 篙 灣 原 本 只 是 一 個 平 靜 海 灣 ， 但 自 從 香 港 迪 士 尼 樂 園 計 劃 曝 光 ， 竹 篙 灣 這 個 海 灣 立 刻 名 聲 大 噪 。 香 港 迪 士 尼 樂 園 度 假 區 第 一 期 已 經 開 幕 ， 而 第 一 期 擴 建 工 程 亦 正 在 進 行 當 中 。 至 於 第 二 期 所 在 土 地 ， 則 仍 然 在 填 海 當 中 。



　 　 除 了 迪 士 尼 樂 園 ， 香 港 迪 士 尼 樂 園 度 假 區 亦 建 有 公 眾 水 上 康 樂 活 動 中 心 （ 即 迪 欣 湖 ， 亦 用 作 供 水 用 途 ） 以 及 兩 間 迪 士 尼 度 假 酒 店 。



　 　 竹 篙 灣 原 本 有 三 條 村 落 ： 望 東 坑 、 灣 篤 及 昂 船 坳 ， 但 這 些 村 落 已 經 沒 有 居 民 居 住 了 。 到 五 十 年 代 ， 財 利 船 廠 搬 入 竹 篙 灣 更 使 竹 篙 灣 進 入 另 一 個 興 旺 時 期 ， 高 峰 期 間 有 多 達 七 十 戶 人 士 居 住 。 而 中 電 亦 在 竹 篙 灣 建 有 發 電 廠 。





鹿 頸





 　 　 位 於 新 界 東 北 的 鹿 頸 ， 毗 鄰 禁 區 ， 鹿 頸 路 已 是 禁 區 邊 界 ， 亦 因 如 此 ， 在 鹿 頸 能 輕 易 遠 眺 沙 頭 角 市 以 至 鹽 田 港 。 另 外 ， 由 於 貼 近 禁 區 ， 鹿 頸 仍 然 沒 有 任 何 大 型 發 展 ， 其 一 帶 的 沙 頭 角 海 仍 然 保 留 大 量 淺 灘 ， 亦 能 看 到 很 多 種 雀 鳥 飛 翔 覓 食 ， 充 滿 大 自 然 氣 色 。



　 　 前 往 鹿 頸 可 以 選 擇 從 粉 嶺 經 沙 頭 角 公 路 或 大 埔 經 新 娘 潭 路 前 往 ， 粉 嶺 東 鐵 站 及 聯 和 墟 亦 有 小 巴 直 達 鹿 頸 村 村 口 。 從 沙 頭 角 公 路 可 進 入 直 達 鹿 頸 的 鹿 頸 路 ， 而 在 鹿 頸 路 起 點 不 遠 就 是 沙 頭 角 禁 區 管 制 站 了 。 開 頭 經 過 幾 間 車 場 後 ， 鹿 頸 路 就 會 變 成 單 線 道 路 ， 路 側 亦 變 成 淺 灘 。 平 日 可 看 到 很 多 人 在 淺 灘 上 拾 貝 殼 及 玩 耍 。



　 　 站 在 鹿 頸 路 ， 可 以 清 楚 遠 眺 沙 頭 角 海 及 海 面 上 的 小 島 景 色 ， 風 景 宜 人 ， 而 淺 灘 上 亦 有 一 些 灌 木 。 由 沙 頭 角 公 路 入 口 步 行 大 約 二 十 分 鐘 左 右 就 到 南 涌 ， 南 涌 亦 是 衛 奕 信 徑 的 終 點 ， 其 中 南 涌 村 附 近 有 一 間 天 后 廟 ， 可 順 道 一 遊 。



　 　 由 南 涌 再 向 南 步 行 十 五 分 鐘 就 能 到 達 鹿 頸 村 了 。 村 口 有 兩 三 間 士 多 ， 平 日 也 會 營 業 的 ， 可 以 在 此 補 給 。 如 想 就 此 回 家 ， 可 在 村 口 等 待 小 巴 。 如 有 氣 力 者 ， 更 可 沿 新 娘 潭 路 步 行 至 新 娘 潭 甚 至 大 尾 篤 及 船 灣 淡 水 湖 。
