if a radioactive substance has a half life of 10 days, in how many days will 1/8 of the initial amount be present?

After 10 days, (1/2) left
After 20 days, (1/2)(1/2) = (1/4) left
After 30 days, (1/2)(1/2)(1/2) = (1/8) left

(1/8) = (1/2)^3

3 = (days/10)

days = 3X10 = 30

then I use the exponential decay function.
0.5V=Ve^(-10k)
k=0.069314718
then
(1/8)V=Ve^(-kt)
t=30.00000002
Time=30 days(corr to integer)
