請問「僧俗」的「俗」英文怎麼說？

You can use "layman" and "laity", or just in general "earthling".

Ok, since you invite me to place my opinion in answer area, let me make my saying in more detail:

Layman:
(1)a person who is not a member of the clergy (一般信徒)
(2)a person who does not belong to a particular profession or who is not expert in some field (門外漢)

Laity:
(1)the people of a religion who are not priests, ministers, etc. (無聖職的人)
(2) the people outside of a particular profession (外行人)

So "layman" and "laity" are about the same and they are much closer to what you ask for; 俗人, because what you want is to distinguish from priest, monk or nun.


Worldling, Earthling, Laic (or Laical):
(1) a human being living on Earth (俗人,凡人)

These 3 words are just for people like you or me, and have nothing to do with religion.
