train from Paris to Antwerp, Belgium?

Hello,

I will be travelling to Antwerp next month. My plane will arrive at Paris CDG airport. I would like to ask: What is the cheapest way (though may take a longer time) to go to Antwerp from Paris CDG airport?

I heard that I may have to firstly go to Paris Nord from the airport and then take another train to Antwerp because the direct train from Paris CDG airport is really expensive.

Please also say how many hours it takes approximately in total.

Hello, Thank you for your detailed answer! In order to tell the time of the train I should book, could someone also say how many hours it takes to go through the custom in the Paris CDG airport? My plane will be touching down at 12.25pm on 23 March 2014 (low season), should I book the train departing at 2pm? Thanks

A cheaper option would be not to use the highspeed train from the airport all the way to Antwerp with a change of trains in Brussels.

Instead of that book a ticket from 'Aéroport Paris - Roissy - Charles-de-Gaulle' to 'Courtrai' [Kortrijk] which is a city in Belgium just at the French border. This requires you only to use the highspeed train from the airport to Lille and to continue by a intercity or regional train. The prices for highspeed train to Lille and connection to Courtrai vary based on demand; a regular ticket can be found for €51.80; cheap offers for early in advance booking from €22.80

From Courtrai/Kortrijk you can get a Belgian train ticket for the intercity train to Antwerpen-Centraal for €15.50
