If Yahoo Answers had a "Non-Religion & Non-Spirituality" Forum, would most athiests continue in this forum?

For a "Religion and Spirituality" forum, there sure seems to be a lot of non-religious anti-spiritual people that frequent this forum. Is it because atheists don't have their own forum, or is there some sort of sense of satisfaction that is derived from answering posts about God with "There is no God" or words to that effect?

If atheists had their own forum, would most go to it, or continue commenting in this one? I'm just curious.

They would stay on this one. They would have nothing to say on their own forum. They need to spout out their hatred of God and need Christians for that.

Well, it's not the "religious people only" forum or the like, is it?
Religion and spirituality are topics and anyone is free to discuss them.

Haven't you read some of the question posed to atheists on this forum?

This section is not for religious people *ONLY*. It's a section for *DISCUSSION* about religion etc. DUH !!!!!! Get a brain.

I suspect the thought that they're talking some sense into us poor, ignorant Christians keeps them going

26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

Use the search feature and see how many questions that are asked directly to atheists on this forum; draw your own conclusions.

This IS the "Non-Religion and Non-Spirituality forum". This by virtue of it NOT being the Believers and Believers Only section. The fact that a position of disbelief is just as relevant to the subject of religion and such as the converse, means you don't really get to say who's opinions don't belong. If you make a religious claim, particularly if you Address the non-believers, like, I don't know, exactly how the person whose question I may or may not be responding to at this moment has, then, as this is a public forum, you get to hear things you might not agree with. That's how it works, and we don't charge anything for it.

You're welcome.

Considering I'm in a forum called Society and Culture, without having a sub category called Religion and Spirituality I'd say it wouldn't make a difference to me at all.

Yet, stating those as "atheist" is incorrect, as there are atheistic people with spirituality.

I would presume theists would be in that forum telling them to convert and that they are wrong

This is a place to discuss religion and/or spirituality, is it not? Atheists have their own individual points of view on the topics. Some atheists are actually religious (Buddhists, some Unitarian Universalists, Ethical Culture, etc.) and some consider themselves spiritual. Nor do I see this listed as "pro-religion and pro-spirituality". And as long as religion influences the cultures we live in, atheists will continue to discuss, confront, and even sometimes ridicule and attack those religions.

It shows how truly powerless they are. Sad, really.

I can't answer for all of us, only myself. No, I would continue to haunt this category and antagonize theists. Not antagonize for the sake of being a thorn in the side, but to both try and understand "faith" (I call it magical thinking), and to try to get theists to examine their beliefs and see if they indeed hold water in the cold light of day.

they do have 2 "myths and folklore . society and culture."

Why are BAD Christians always so ignorant about what an atheist is‽

ATHEIST - someone who does not believe in a God – any God – not just the Christian one. But that does not mean they do not hold strong moral or religious beliefs! They can follow any religion that does not have a god and there are a lot of those!

Like BUDDHISM – Religious teaching from Buddha and his followers that by destroying greed, hatred and delusion (the cause of all suffering) man can attain perfect enlightenment!

Anti atheism is doing so much damage to Christianity that it is in reality anti Christianity – David Manley

It takes in reality only one to make a quarrel. It is useless for the sheep to pass resolutions in favour of vegetarianism, while the wolf remains of a different opinion. - William Ralph Inge.

Why so blind to what causes the backlash against Christianity?

ALL the other religions and atheists live in peace and are ONLY attacked by BAD Christians which causes all GOOD Christians to despair at the damage they do!

The self destruction of Christianity is underway and the only thing that can stop it is to abandon the terrible human emotions, seek to rediscover the idea of a loving god and act like it!

Posts like yours that drive people further away from God are driving you towards hell.

So who are you working for the devil or the antichrist because it sure ain't the loving god!
