Know some basic Chinese? This question'll be a doddle?

Ok can someone explain how to employ these simple prepositions.
i'm learning in pinyin. Got a Chinese friend on the line but their limited English isn't helping.

Ok so I must fill the gap here:

yi ... nu hai zi he yi ... nu ren (one woman and one girl=
yi ... bao zhi (one newspaper)
yi ... shu (one book)
yi ... bi (one pen)

And I have these options: Zhi, Ge, Fen, Ben

How do I know which one to place? Initially I thought there was one for humans, one for animals and one for objects but that turns out to not be the case. Can anyone tell me when to employ which?

Much appreciated

PS: this isnt homework or anything so don't be annoying and tell me to bugger off

"Ge" is the measure word for humans. Ex. "Yi ge nu ren" One woman
"Zhi" is the measure word for animals. Ex. "Yi zhi mao" One cat
"Ben" is the measure word for books. Ex. "Yi ben shu" One book.
"Fen" means minutes as far as I know (My Chinese is basic) But for example: "Xian zai shi wu dian er shi fen" The time is 5:20

"Ge" is also a very common measure word, it is used for a lot of things other than just humans, but there are many many chinese measure words so it is best to look a list of them or take a chinese class it really helps to learn it by speaking and practicing every day. ALSO REMEMBER TO HAVE YOUR TONES RIGHT, or else you could say something different like zhi in the third tone means "only" I'm pretty sure zhi as the measure word for animals is fourth tone but please don't hold me to it haha do your research and ask your friend! :D I hope I helped even a little bit~

1. Ge ( The first answer explained it correctly already so nvm ._.)
2. Fen (Yes the first answer is right about saying it can also mean minute. But in this case its used to describe Newspaper since there are lots of pages in one newspaper. This word has 2 completely different meanings. It is because they are two different words. 分is used to describe minute or scores [one word two meanings], and the other word 份is used in this case to describe newspaper or anything with loads of paper.)
3, Ben
4, Zhi ( Other than using it to describe animals, Zhi can also be used to describe anything in a stick-like shape. It is because they are actually two different words. 隻is for animals and 枝 is for the stick like things while they both sound the same)
I wish your best in learning Chinese.

One more thing is that I am not sure if its 支 or 枝 for the measurement of the pen. I learn traditional Chinese in Hong Kong and we use the word 枝in this case. However I am not sure if its the same for simplified ones so you should ask your teacher about it.

If you pick to find out Chinese then you should know that Chinese language is without a doubt one of the hardest languages for westerners to learn, and up right up until now learning to speak Chinese to a level of proficiency outdoors of the classroom setting has been virtually impossible but not if you pick a course
