don不可以譯上帝(1) 源於西班牙語和葡萄牙語，英文Don可解為尊貴的稱銜，追朔自1520年代拉丁文dominus(解主人),
(2) 至1952年開始用作黑社會大哥的稱呼，有點像意大利黑手黨的godfather(教父)。

Although originally a title reserved for royalty etc, it is now often used as a mark of esteem for a person of personal, social or official distinction, such as a longstanding community leader.

In Celtic British mythology, Dôn is the parent (presumably father) of Gwydion and Arianrhod, but originally a female figure.
It may be that this otherwise uncharacterized figure was a major deity (神) of continental Celts.
