為何括弧中的不定詞片語是副詞而不是形容詞? 是如何判斷的?

2: 是如何判斷的?
(to study veterinary medicine)是修飾 went ,所以是副詞片語
另外,奉勸學文法不必太拘泥於文法,只要看得懂也會使用,就不必管它文法是什麼

為何不是didn't而是don't?
ANS:
因為是在陳述現在的事實

Instead of learning tons of grammar rules; yet don't know when or how to use them, I would rather use the language and make lots of mistakes, in the end, I would know how to use and use it right.

"Juan" is a Spanish name, it is "John" in Spanish.
