Report on Bottle Collection Day

The event: Our club organized the Bottle Collection Day on 21-22 February. The aim was to encourage students to recycle plastic bottles by dropping them in the bin at the school entrance gate.

Problems: [標題指出「問題所在」因此不用像寫文章配上However這類連(轉)接詞]The event did not receive much support from our students. First, many students use their own recycled bottle nowadays. We did not consider this problem before we planed this activity. Our event did not receive a good result.

Solutions: We should review the current practices (或behaviours) before we plan any environmental event. For example, many students did not switch off the light when they left the classroom.[原寫法的邏輯錯誤：他們離開之前(即是他們仍在使用房間)當然不會關掉燈] Therefore, we should make a competition, maybe called “Inter-class switch off light competition“[班與班比賽(班際比賽)叫inter-class competition] and the winner(class) will be given a mystery price(或award). Many more students might participate such an event. From this activity, we can raise the awareness of students to switch off the light before they go and protect our earth. [句子沒大錯，但and protect the earth跟關了燈之間的關係並非直接，列理據因果關係要嘗試明確的合理，例如switch off light …and reduce energy use to preserve our consumption of the earth’s fuel resource/reserves. 保護地球是一個大理念包括N樣可能-關燈的直接功效只是減少用電和減少消耗發電需要的地球燃料]

Conclusion: We hope (或Our objective of) this event can raise the awareness of the students on the issues of environmental protection and receive a good result.[句子基本沒大錯，但…receive a good result跟上面講及的問題和提案矛盾，除非你在上文加一項Result: 講述和報告回收的量或同學們的讚好回應，以及推廣的範圍(介紹回收後處理的樽去了那裏，循環再造的結果-重新製造出甚麼物件或如何幫助減少原膠生產，認識原膠來自石油，石油價值跟地球環境的關係。)…由此看來你的報告還有很多可能改善的建議solutions。

你的英文基本功不錯，假如這是作文(不是真實的事件報告)可以有更多內容可作豐富展示對這題目的分析和理解，就算是真的活動報告也仍可以有建設性的相關資料加入，而不要由回收(再造)主題變為建議關燈。記住回收只是修正過度消費和追求生產使用的其中一步，並不一定達致保護地球的，好好查考生產膠樽的過程和回收膠樽後的過程。你們發現同學們已經自備水樽而令回收活動不太有效是因為你誤會(或被一般社會意識導向)了回收量代表了保護環境的成功率。
