Just curious if the Republican idea that people "grow into" the GOP is still true.

I doubt it. The GOP is still stuck in the 1300's with their social conservative nonsense. Did those clowns get a load of what happened at Missouri? A southern school? For your edification, Michael Sam, one of the football players, came out as gay. When the ******** from Westboro Baptist showed up to protest, the student body blocked them from campus. Then Sam received an ovation at a basketball game.The GOP and their hate is finished.

I used to vote for Democrats every now and then- most recently, Hillary Clinton in 2008. NEVER AGAIN, after seeing how crazy they went in 2009-2011 when there was single-party Democratic control of the executive and legislative branches of the Federal government, and seeing how anti-mainstream American Obama and Eric Holder in particular are.

I was a Democrat until Clinton. I was independent until Obama, now with such a change in the views of the party, I can't see myself ever voting Democrat again. I always voted my pay check and didn't worry out the other views, but now the views are so far left, and they are screwing the middle class.

I wish you Americans would stop quoting Churchill when you know nothing about British politics whatsoever, the fact that British conservatives then and now are far more to the left than even Obama and the Democrats are just shows how out of step you really are!!!
It may be a surprise to you, but Churchill started out as a conservative and then became a Liberal, it was only when he was in his fifties that he returned to the conservative party and because he had fall outs with the liberal leadership!!!
Also once again Liberals in Britain in the nineteen forties are of virtually no resemblance to Liberals in the US today.
This quote and his attacks on liberals are dodgy at best, His beloved wife Clementine was a life long liberal , Churchill worshiped the ground she walked on and would have never directed an insult like this at her!!!
Read one of Churchill's biographies and find out just how his politics resemble American conservatism.....very very little I can tell you!
