英文句子文法問題一問

I used a van to deliver goods to Apple Company last Wednesday. The van was
old.
和句子文法ok.但寫法(按要表達的內容)上不會這樣分開兩句講的，van是 "old"這屬於那van的特性會放入主句中，避免有時時態(動詞)上會引致的歧義(現時的內容沒大問題，但有時會產生問題)。
I used an old van to deliver goods to Apply Company last Wednesday.


I used a toilet in Apple City yesterday. The toilet was dirty. There was litter in
the toilet.
基本上ok.

I used a a vacuum cleaner to clean my room last Monday. The cleaner was
new.
文法和動詞時態都ok.
不過第二句The cleaner誤用名詞了。vacuum cleaner是一樣物件(一定兩字組成一個意思)，cleaner在英文名詞中是指清潔工人。不要以為由於前句有這字便可拆或省略)。其實第一句可像上面所講把屬性放入主句a new vacuum cleaner便可以。由於物件已在第一句寫了，第二句可用pronoun(代名詞)寫法：
It was new.便可以了，不用不斷重複那東西的名詞。


I used a computer to write a report last Friday. The computer was large.
computer用large來形容有點怪(不是錯)，一般講一部大型(體積或由很多組機器合成)東西都是用big，huge；large主要用於size(衣服/地方面積)。以前的main frame computer才叫large，因為它佔很大面積安裝；但你做功課的computer相信不會很large吧。小學學的small-large/small-big好像沒有分別，但現實英語中是有些特定習慣用詞只能從真正英文人寫法中學習，否則寫出來對方理解是錯(怪)的。
