For Word 2007
Method 1, (provided your settings have been set)
Click on“File”, click “Open”, click “Files of Type” and click “All Files (*.*)”.Search for adocument with a “.wbk” extension. This is your backup copy of the target document. Click to open it. If correct, save it NOW.
Method 2, (provided your settings have been set for autosaving)
Perform a searchfor “*.asd” file. These are your Word autosaved files. Look for the relevant filename. That's the one you need. If found, save it NOW.If the above fail, check below..
Otherwise, Word2010 stores previous versions of documents and allow for easy retrieval:1. Open your file(the one that has been overwritten).2. Click on the“File” tab at the top of the Microsoft Word tool bar.3. Click “Info”, click “Versions” and select your desired version.4. Click the“Restore” button at the top of the document.5.
