A factual recount is not at all a narrative, because a narrative is a story you tell, whether factual or not. A factual recount is telling the story of exactly what happened in real life, exactly as it happened. A diary is not too different from either, though there arent any rules for diary entries. you can write narrative or factual recount. Usually, factual recount.
