In many places in the Bible it does say Jesus is God. Read more carefully next time.
Jesus is God, "before Abraham was, I AM", remember this?
Because he is God. Many in the Bible worshipped him, never once did he say they should not. And when Thomas called him God he told him that it was good that he believed that.
Matt 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Matt 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Matt 9:18 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
John 9:38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him
John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
John 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Since you have not shown the specific verse where Jesus said "Do not worship me", your argument is from silence and is thus fallacious.
Jesus did not refuse worship, nor did He say not to do it.
He never said not to worship Him. In fact, He never stopped anyone who did worship Him. When Daniel fell to his knees to worship the angel sent by God, the angel said, DO NOT worhsip me. Jesus never said this. When Jesus appeared to Thomas, Thomas fell to his knees and worshipped Jesus and said, My Lord and my God. And Thomas was not the only one who fell to his knees or worshipped Jesus.
In the Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem, throngs of people ran to Him, calling out, Hosannah! Hosannah! (Save us! Save us!), and they lay palm fronds under His feet -- well, the feet of His donkey. The people THEN recognized Him for who He is: God. Emmanuel. The one spoken of in Isaiah 9:6 -- For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, MIGHTY GOD, Everlasting FATHER, Prince of Peace.
Jesus forgave sins. The leadership was quite uptight because, "only God can forgive sin," and Jesus, in so doing, was saying flat out, Yeah. That's right. Your sins are forgiven you.
The leadership was also very uptight because He referred to Himself as The Son of Man, which was a euphamism for being God, and He referred to Himself as I Am, also one of the names of God. The leadership was out to get Him BECAUSE He called Himself God. He says in John 8:58, I tell you the truth, Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I AM."
Even God called Jesus God. In Hebrews 7-12 it says, "In speakig of the agnels, God says, 'He makes His agnels winds, His servatns flames of fire. But about the Son He says, 'Your throne, oh God, will last forevr and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved rightousness and hated wickedness; therefore, God, YOUR God has said you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy. 'God also says, ' In the beginning, oh, Lord, YOU laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of YOUR hands.'"
Adam and Eve were created Human Beings, just as the angels were created beings. Adam and Eve were not God. They sinned. And God never said His creation was perfect -- as God is perfect. He said it was good.
@ Krista, you are dead wrong. All through the Bible Jesus refers to Himself as God. God refers to Jesus as God, and the leadership wanted to kill Him BECAUSE He called Himself God. The people recognized Him as God, and Jesus never stopped anyone from worshipping Him as God because He IS God.
The book you read and quote from is called by the foremost expert in the Greek language "a pernicious lie." Get yourself a NKJV and read it juxtopposed to your own book and see for yourself.
i dont think its that people worship Jesus before God. because of the doctrine of the trinity, people think Jesus is God.
if he is God, than worship and praise is noteworthy to be allowed.
i try to discern the different verses in Rev 22. on the one hand john is talking to an angel, but the angel seems to be jesus, and yet john begins to worship and that person says do it not.
however, in previous chapter Jesus is given glory, honor and praise. and specifically jesus is described as being our God and we will be his sons. so there is a form of worship there.
i dont believe in the trinity as God being 3 in 1. i dont believe the bible teaches Jesus is a trinity of God. john 8:42 says Jesus did not send himself. and then in john 17, jesus prays and says i pray "they" can be one in us. as i am one in you. the trinity is an "imagination" of a man. it is not the true biblical theology. if the godhead can be given to mortal man by promise and if mortal man can overcome all things, to get the invitation, than surely all christian religions that believe in teh trinity are a "false" gospel. just like Galatians 1:6-9 suggests.
i often say if a man shows me 6 bible verses about the trinity, i will show him 12 about the godhead. if they show me a dozen verses i will show another dozen.
i believe the LDS church is more correct than the JW's but both the JW and the LDs are more correct than the catholics and protestants. aiui.
Psalm 138
2I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
John 2
18Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
19Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
21But he spake of the temple of his body.
22When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
Lets see if you comprehend what you read. What did Thomas say upon seeing the wounds of JESUS he hits the ground and say's JESUS my LORD my GOD. Now notice and comprehend JESUS rebuked him NOT!!! What you failed to do was to rightly divide THE WORD OF TRUTH.Moses asks GOD wkom do I say sent me. GOD say's say I AM sent you. Did JESUS not say to HIS Diciple BEFORE MOSES WAS I AM!!!! DID JESUS NOT COMMAND HIS DICIPLES TO BAPTIZE IN HIS NAME. DID THEY NOT DO JUST THAT IN ACTS.You must seek THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD for without that SPIRIT you will never comprehend HIS WORD!!!
JESUS BLESS YOU
david stotler
Exactly whom do you think Jesus is.
Thank you soo much for asking this question. How else could i have read all the marvellous answers showing He, that Holy One, Jesus never refused the worship of those He saved.
As David said: Jesus bless you and bless me too my Lord.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one goes to the Father (God) except through him. Jesus is worthy. Worthy is the Lamb (Jesus) that was slained. Blessing and Honor and Glory and Power be unto him that sitteth upon the throne and unto the Lamb (Jesus) that was slained.

Learn who Jesus is. No where does the bible say Jesus did not want to be worshiped. Jesus IS God and He is also the Word of God made flesh - all biblical. John ch 1 -"In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the Word was God He (Jesus, which it later elaborates on) was in the beginning with God. (...) And the word became flesh and He dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

Jesus was often worshipped while He appeared on earth before His resurrection.
Matthew 8:2 - A leper came and worshipped Jesus. [9:18; 15:25; Mark 5:6]
Matthew 14:33 - After Jesus had calmed the storm, the disciples worshipped Him saying He was the Son of God.
John 9:38 - After Jesus had healed the blind man, He revealed Himself to be the Son of God (v35). The man said he believed, and he worshipped Jesus.
Note that such religious worship would have been blasphemy and should have been forbidden as it was in the case of Peter, the angel, etc., if Jesus had been just a man on earth.
Created beings also worship Him after His resurrection.
Matthew 28:9,17 - After His resurrection, His disciples worshipped Him. [Cf. John 20:28,29]
Luke 24:52 - Even after He had ascended back to heaven, they worshipped Him.
Hebrews 1:6 - Angels are instructed by God to worship Jesus.
Note that men were rebuked for worshipping men, angels, or created beings, but they were never rebuked for worshipping Jesus. Angels are even instructed by the Father to worship Jesus. The context of the above passages cannot fit the idea of obeisance to an earthly king or ruler. They refer to honoring Jesus as a religious authority - the very thing forbidden when offered to Peter, angels, etc.
Hence, Jesus accepted worship as an act of love and honor. The Scriptures, including Jesus' own teachings, would absolutely forbid this unless He possesses true Deity.
Because the first lesson most children hear is, "obey authority are you will be punished." From then on, because of the fear of punishment, the child's thought processes are converted from logic-based to fear-based. Also, this reduces the child to the station of "inferior" relative to any authority figure. This of course is part of the brainwashing process that converts people into sheep. And most people spend the rest of their life believing in the fairy tales told them by some deadbeat who is living off their sweat and leading the sheep to slaughter.

The Trinity is a false doctrine. Matt. 26:39, RS: “Going a little farther he [Jesus Christ] fell on his face and prayed, ‘My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.’” (If the Father and the Son were not distinct individuals, such a prayer would have been meaningless. Jesus would have been praying to himself, and his will would of necessity have been the Father’s will.)
Col. 1:15, 16, RS: “He [Jesus Christ] is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation; for in him all things were created, in heaven and on earth.” - Jesus was created.
Mark 13:32, RS: “Of that day or that hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but ONLY the Father.” (Of course, that would not be the case if Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were coequal, comprising one Godhead. And if, as some suggest, the Son was limited by his human nature from knowing, the question remains, Why did the Holy Spirit not know?
John 14:28, RS: “[Jesus said:] If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.”
Hebrews 5:8 Jesus learned OBEDIENCE. God does not need to learn obedience. He has no one to be obedient too.
1 Cor. 11:3, RS: “I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.” (Clearly, then, Christ is not God, and God is of superior rank to Christ.
Mark 10: 17-18 “And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.” (If Jesus were God he would not have counseled the man who called him Good.)
Psalms 83:18 Jehovah is the most high God over all the earth (KJV)
(John 1:18) . . .No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is in the bosom [position] with the Father is the one that has explained him. . .
If no man has ever seen God, but Jesus has explained him, then obviously they are not the same person.

Because they are idiots with a very low level of reading comprehension skills.
Typical people , one man says one thing , that man dies , years later it bent well out of shape.
