男女收入差距

I have some good feeling towards a boy and I can feel his feeling in return to me too. Yet I have a higher income than him and I'm afraid he's too aware of it. He has low self-esteem. It appears to be 'face-losing' and 'shameful' for him to have a girlfriend of a higher income than him. How should I proceed?
