How do i know when my question has been answered?

We used to get a notification email (if we selected the option) whenever we received a new answer.

However, on the new format, it's very hit-or-miss. You might get all the notifications, some, or none.

The only way to know for sure is to return to the question and see if anyone has answered it. Do that by clicking 'Answers Home' in the left sidebar, then, in your activity banner, to the right of your username and avatar, click 'Questions'. This will take you to the list of questions you've asked. Click on your open question in that list to see if your question was answered.

To make sure that you have opted to receive new answer notification emails, click 'Answers Home', then the 'wrench' icon in the top right of your activity banner. Under 'Send me an email when', be sure that the box next to 'I receive a new answer ... ' is CHECKED.

Added: Forgot about this, and one of my contacts just reminded me ... a 'new answer' notification does show up on the 'Everything' page (your profile page, the one you land on when you click 'Answers Home'), and if you're lucky, you'll see it! However, if you have a lot of contacts, that page very quickly gets taken over by THEIR activity, so it's easy to miss what's going on with YOUR activity.

good question as I asked a question earlier. I would assume you would receive an email about it. Please let me know if you find out differently. :)
