Why do guys do this, it's so annoying?!!?

So apparently this guy "likes" me... yeah, whatever.

We text almost everyday, sometimes we have really short and quick conversations, sometimes we talk for hours, it varies.

Anyway tonight he text me "why you no talk? You didn't reply".

I answered: "to what?"

(I genuinely didn't know how I'd reply to "haha aw", which was the last thing he said before this :/ )

I then said "sorry".

He said " :( goodnight"

I replied: "goodnight then :/ "

He again said "goodnight".


Wtf. Why do guys do this? Why do they even bother being like that, what do they hope to achieve? Because it has achieved annoyance from me, that's for sure. I mean he's 25, and I'm 21. You wouldn't think so though, would you?
