K so I think I need a scientific calculator 4 my math EXAM tomorrow, cuz we have to find the cube roots of #s sometimes. There are NO GRAPHING CALCULATORS ALLOWED ON THE EXAM. If u have 1, u automatically get a ZERO. My dad gave me his Business and Financial Calculator, which has some of the same buttons as the graphing calculator we used in class.
So, my question is, IS A BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL CALULATOR LIKE A GRAPHING CALCULATOR OR A SCIENTIFIC?? I know its 4 business but can it also act as a graphing calculator???? I'm worried that I may not be able to use it, or if I use it I might get a ZERO. Could u guys plz plz help me out ASAP??????

Some business calculators can make graphs. Possibly your father knows if his does. You can get cube roots by trial and error. What is the cube root of 108? 5 times 5 times 5 = 125, so it is a bit less. 4.8 times 4.8 times 4.8 = 110.592, so it is a bit less. 4.77 times 4.77 times 4.77 = 108. 53. Likely that is close enough. If not you can try 4.765

As long as you have an exponent button, you will be okay. To find the nth root, raise the number to the 1/n power.
For example, to find the cube root of 125, raise 125 to the 1/3 power to get 5.
Exponent keys are either x^y, y^x, or ^.
