I’m currently living with my fiancée right in the middle of London. She’s recently got a job in Cambridge and it’s time to buy a house so we’re look at areas north of London.

Areas we’re considering are Bishops Stortford, Hitchin, maybe Lechtworth or Welwyn…..but suggestions welcome.

We don’t know that part of the world that well, do you have suggestions? Ideally we want a train line that goes to both London ahttp://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/ask?title=Ok+Yahoo+answers%2C+this+is+the+one%21%21%21+Moving+House+advice+needed%21+Herefordshire%2C+Cambridgeshire+and+Essex#nd Cambridge.

I work in London mainly but also Guildford.

Any advice is appreciated, we don’t want to end up in some sleepy/run down town!

Many thanks

John

Bishop Stortford is beautiful but very expensive. have a look on Rightmove or Zoopla.

The you work out your budget and projected mortgage look at sites like Right Move and Prime Location.

The answer is not on here on this site as there are so many personal variables. Train stations and travel time to them. Season ticket costs and the alternative road routes if need be.

Unsure then you simply rent in the area, or do the even cheaper option which is a double room in a shared house where the landlord lives in and is just looking for help with bills. Those all in deals can be for as little as three months as well.
