Hello,
I am about to Graduate with a degree in Computer Science.
I study in Malaysia but my certificate is from England and i would be going back home to get a job, in Nigeria.
I want to specialize in DBM and/or ESA, i want to take either the ORACLE or SAP certifications
and also get certifications in project management as i feel these will help my resume and in turn after a few years (2 years) would like to then try to get a job outside the country.

My question is this; which certification should i take, and whether these certification can help a fresher right out of university.

Thanks.

I love this question and your foresight about your career.

As a fresher out of the university, only your attitude and enthusiasm will help besides your academic percentages to crack in the job. Either you do Oracle/SAP/any other technical package it may be of less help initially.

However, it is recommended to go for basic training on technical concepts and get some management learning. Choose the technical subject based on your interests and then go for the project management learning.

Go for project management conceptual learning which will set you apart as your career progresses. Getting this knowledge initially will help you foster become a leader soon.

For project management learning, I would suggest PMkP certificate from Armadillo consultants, I think it is called project management knowledge proficient for people completing successful training. This may be worth the investment for freshers like you who may be interested in long term fast track career path. They can be reached here I guess:

PMP you cannot get without Project management experience of 5 years.
( You can do showing wrong certificates but you may be caught)

Go for oracle certification but it is not worth if you dont get a project first.

Go for SAP certification but god knows you may get a job in java programming.

First get a job then think on certification.

Telling you upfront from my experience.

For PMP, if you have a degree, then you will only need to have 3 years of project management experience (with over 4,500 hours working on project management).

You may first get the required 35 hours of project management education first through classroom learning or online learning in order to familiarize yourself with project management language which I find helps much in my preparation for my PMP. The certificate for the project management education never expires. After you have accumulated the required experience, then you can study the latest edition of PMBOK Guide and apply to take the PMP exam.

Wish you every success!
