Awww poor thing! Read her 1 PETER 5:7, it tells us to throw our anxiety on God because he cares for us. and PSALM 37:10,11 and Revelation 21:3,4 talk about the hope for the future that we have. Also www,jw.org is an awesome website with many encouraging thoughts and support for anyone, including teens and young adults.

Heres a quick link to the site too.

I Wish you and your friend well!

How very christian of you to descend like a vulture on the downtrodden. Why pretend to care about her at all?

Tell a responsible adult.

Why not tell her something from the heart instead of reciting bible verses...I know if I was feeling close to the edge someone doing that would probably push me over.

Does your friend even believe in the Bible, or share your religion? If not, it's the worst thing you can do and it might cause a faster collapse.

If she shares your faith, bible verses and prayers are fine but they're not enough without some real help. Encourage her to talk to someone (a guidance counselor, a help line, a minister, etc.) who is qualified to help her.

The book "Young People Ask - Questions that work" is really good. Go to Jw.org

You absolutely DO NOT need bible verses or testimonies. All you need is to be a good friend to her, be someone she can talk to, someone she can trust, someone who always reinforces that she is a person who has value.

You can tell her that many people rose from adversity and went on to have great lives. You can have her read the 23rd Psalm that is very comforting. You can tell her that on this earth life can be very difficult, but you have to be stronger than what life throws at you, Tell her even bad, horrific events are meant as learning lessons.
Also give her the book Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People and also Don't Sweat The Small Stuff ( and it's all small stuff). and you can go to Barnes & Noble, in their religious and inspirational section and look at some books written by various religious people on how to deal with bad times through prayer and God.

I wish I knew the bible better to give you uplifting passages but I always just pray to God and ask Him to guide me on the right path. I have read the bible, but I more read it while I pray so I do not know it word for word.

Ooops and yes like others wrote on here if she is suicidal, though I thought you feared she was, you did not write she told you she wanted to commit suicide, but tell her to go talk to the school psychiatrist or guidance counselor.

Just tell her that your there for her i don't think the bible will do anything much, but if you think she is capable of committing suicide my advice will be get her help ASAP

PRAY for her .
ask God to help her ...
