if it is a vow to stay together for ever, there would not be a divorce which prevents the forever till death thing.

It's a contract and divorce is a part of the vow

Divorce is a sin;

A woman should not abandon her husband unless he is a murderer or an inveterate thief; Sexual impurity on the part of a husband should be tolerated by the wife if she wishes to dominate him at home; A dominating wife and a husband of high character can't stay together;

And, a man should not abandon his wife unless she is proved to be characterless; Anger and misconduct of a wife could be tolerated, but not the loss of her character; If a man wishes sexual purity from his wife, he should not insist on her being very submissive;

Because people so often BREAK that vow.............particularly the part about loving and honoring and cherishing..............to say nothing about the part, about forsaking all Others.

I can't keep a vow..........if the other half is breaking their side of the bargain every 5 minutes.

I can keep MY vow........but a marriage takes TWO working halves. Not just one.

they probably should add, "Till death of your love shall you part"

I guess when your love dies then your marriage dies, hence divorce. :)
