I take the liberty to enquire if there is any vacancy for a clerk existing at present in your esteemed company. I understand that your firm is expanding so rapidly that you are often short of staff, and I venture to write to you with the hope that should you really be in need of a clerk, I should be most grateful if you would allow me to render my humble services to you company.

I am XX years old and this summer I passed the Hong Kong School Certificate Examination with credits in English, Chinese, Mathematics and Geography. I am however, also a fast and accurate typist and confident that I can handle office routine with ease once I get used to it. Regarding the question of salary, I am willing to accept any reasonable amount you may offer.
