Physical and chemical property

Physical properties of a substance are those properties that can be determined without the substance changing into another substance. For example malleable. Metals are malleable, so they can be hammered or rolled into sheets like aluminum foil. Ductility is one of the physical properties too. As copper is ductile, so it can be drawn into a wire. Also, thermal and electrical conductivity are physical properties. Wood is a bad conductor of heat, so it can be used to make the handle of a cooking pan.
On the other hand, chemical properties of a substance are the chemical reactions of the substance, and the respective conditions under which each reaction takes place. For example one of the chemical properties of water is it reacts with iron and air to form rust at room conditions. For an effervescent tablet, it reacts with water quickly to release bubbles of carbon dioxide. This is a chemical property of the tablet. For calcium carbonate, or limestone, under strong heat, carbon dioxide is given off and form calcium oxide, or quicklime.
