Getting pains in my lower stomach, been on contraceptive pill for a few months?

I was put on the pill a few months ago now for heavy and extremely heavy periods, but towards the end of the cycle of pills, I get these aches and pains in my lower stomach. I've also been feeling a bit faint and strange on occasion, especially after eating a lot of food. I asked my doctor about the pains and he said that was normal, but I'm worried about the light-headedness. Should I ask whether I continue the pills or not? They have at least helped with the pain and the heavy periods.

This is normal. At the end of the cycle the womb starts to contract to expel the womb lining, much the same as a period but it is a withdrawal bleed. It is the same as period pains. The lighthead is all part of the process.

Been there and done that a long time ago.
