1.For each of the following cases, give the relative magnitude of n1 and n2.
(Mention whether n1>n2, n1=n2 , n1<n2 or "Cannot tell").

2.有沒有一些情況有critical angle 但無total internal reflection?

1 I n1=n2 因為光線沒有任何編折

理論上
由圖中得知i=r
sin(i)=sin(r)
斯涅耳theorem
N1(sin(i))=N2sin(r)
約去sin i 同 sin r
N1=N2

1II 在圖中,光線垂真入射

無法得知偏折情況
所以cannot tell

2 有, ,只要入射角唔大過critical angle就冇total internal reflection

1(II)理論版:
i =r=0度
sin0=0
斯涅耳定律:
n1 (0)= n2(0)
其中,(任何數x0)的結果都係0, n1同n2都數值無法比較

1.(i) n1 = n2 because there is no refraction occurs on the ray.
(ii) cannot tell. This occurs irrespective of the three situations, n1>n2, n1 = n2 or n1<n2


2. Critical angle is defined in the situation where total internal reflection occurs.
