a good advance physics good recommendation?
can it not be math based? (it means that you use physics to explain maths)
here's something that interests me:
nuclear magnetic resonance spin
super-cavitation
sonoiluminescence
higgs boson
super string theory

I'm sorry but math is the language of nature. If you want an "advance [sic] physics book" it would have to be math based.

Unfortunately, all advanced physics books are math based, you might try back issues of New Scientist, for minimal math descriptions of the topics listed.
It's an eclectic selection, most of it's fairly simple, but the last two will require heavy math for anything other than a simple descripton.
