does this boy like me or not?

I amso confused. I am 16 and he is 15 and he catches me staring at him alot.....one time he caught me and smirked at me. like a haha i caught you kind of look. and i was standing really close to him once because it was crowded in the hallway and from the corner of my eye I seen him look me up and down. Im also new this year and on the first day of gym class the teacher was calling people down by thier names and when she called my name he quickly turned around looked at me and smirked, but whats weird is if im new and ive never talked to him before how does he no my name? on the flip side one time in english class the teacher had a chair right in front of my desk and the boy came up to ask the teacher a question,the teacher pointed to the chair in front my desk and told him to sit thierso he could explain his question the boy looked at me then instantly then at the teacher and was like "arent we going to go backto my desk first??" and the teacher was like "she is really nice"
