I (meet) George and Linda yesterday as I (walk) through the park. They (be) to the Sports Centre where they (play) tennis. They (go) to a cafe for a drink and (invite) me to join them but I (arrange) to meet a friend and (not/have) time

my answer: 1 met 2 was walking 3 had been 4 played 5 were going 6 invited 7 had arrange 8 did not have

想問下正唔正確 同埋有解釋就最好

Number 7 is gramatically incorrect, it should be had arranged .
Past participle form of arrange: arrange arranged arranged , therfore the answer for question 7 should be had arranged.

We use past simple to describe single completed actions in the past.
"yesterday" gives a past time reference.
