automatic turn off wirless adapter?

i want to make a (maybe batch file) so that when it reaches a certian time, it turns off the wireless card, the problem is that i would be in the process of render something large, but the same time after that time, i would like to spend off my HDD speed on plucking out info from my HDD and not trying to flush stuff and draw stuff out at the same time (ithinders my render process, that's for sure) but the problem is that i'm not home, so what can i do?
