You will have to install your antivirus again and enter the product key.From this point your antivirus subscription will have how many days you have left on it.It will not give you a new year.If your antivirus was on the computer from the factory and was under the free trial you might get a new trail but I doubt it. Once you register it,there is no way to start over.

No, usually they have a code that was either sent through email, or on the box depending on how you bought it. Just type that code back in and you're good :)

Why not just download Microsoft Security Essentials which is free. Be a lot simpler. If you have Windows 8 then just run Windows Defender which is part of the OS.
