a. the act of gathering
b. the amount gathered
So 4. "gather" is both noun and verb

festival ~ adjective
~ only in American online dictionaries.
e.g.: a festival (adj.) atmosphere ...

I think "festival atmosphere" is a compound nouns.

festive ~ adjective.

I rather say "The atmosphere is festive" instead of "The atmosphere is festival".
